Three performances of the Good tempered guitars


I wrote this unusual guitar duo way back in 1974 or 1975.
It features a hammer-on half-barré technique at various points,
(although some of the performers preferred to use separate fingers hammering on).
It also features much use of harmonics and cheeky references to "Au Clair de la Lune".
I first introduced it to Gerald Garcia in Headington, in 1975, and the two of us sight read it on the spot:




Fifteen years or so later I introduced it to John Mitchell who played both parts, multitracking!




Then a few years after that, the guitarists Rex Paine and Bruce Button from New Zealand gave the piece their interpretation:
